Shayleigh Lawson (she/her) is a news product intern based in Columbia. Shayleigh attends the University of Missouri as a junior studying Broadcast Journalism. Originally from Kansas City Shayleigh strives to represent those who are underrepresented. She is passionate about challenging single-sided stories and the perception that a person or group of people can only be defined by one characteristic or one experience. At her university, Shayleigh is involved in Greek life, multiple mentoring groups, and assists the Dean of the Journalism school. She is excited to work with The Center for Public Integrity this summer to produce content that is accessible and inclusive.
